Susan Cook RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
Susan Cook received her massage therapy diploma in 2015 from ICT Northumberland College, and is pursuing a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice with the Halifax Campus of the College d’Etudes Osteopathiques.
Susan also graduated from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and has taught Dance and Stott Pilates thought HRM since 2000. Susan moved to Halifax to be near her sister’s family and enjoy spending time with her niece and nephew, who are now both grown and flown; one racing mountain bikes around the world and the other at the Royal Military College in Kingston.
Movement is Medicine, and Susan is pleased to share her knowledge of pain-free movement strategies to help you regain and maintain your freedom of movement. She currently instructs Pilates matwork and equipment-based classes at the Homburg Centre for Health and Wellness at Saint Mary’s University. Your massage therapy treatment will fuse breathing and pilates exercise, fascial release, lymph drainage, General Swedish Massage and a variety of joint mobilization and stretch techniques. Susan’s treatments are gentle but effective, and you will leave feeling revitalized and a little taller, with a lightness of being. Bring shorts and a top with you that enables movement and massage therapy, similar to a sports massage.
Susan leads a physically active lifestyle and enjoys dancing, hiking, cycling, Nordic skiing, and water sports. She volunteers with the Trans Canada Trail - Musquodoboit Trailways and Shore Active Transportation, the Nova Scotia Nature Trust, and is a member of MTANS.
Susan is pleased to join the Halifax Osteopathic Health Centre team, and share in providing the very best of care.
