She initially worked for three years for the national Health Service in the UK specializing in nail surgery for ingrown nails and heading the orthotic manufacturing for a team of 30 podiatrists. Then, in partnership with her spouse and fellow podiatrist, Peter Ferguson, they developed a large and thriving, multi-discipline health care team in Peterborough, Ontario. Given the unique qualities and skills of the team, a full scope of podiatric services were provided, so that patients/clients received the required care for all their foot and gait (walking/running) needs.

Kathryn specializes in toenail surgeries, wart treatments as well as everyday foot care needs such as nail care, corns, callous debridement, and custom prescribed foot orthotics as required. Kathryn having significant expertise in diabetic foot care management; a critical area of importance for many patients with diabetes.

Kathryn has acted as a clinical coordinator for the Ontario based chiropody (foot) program and teaching the practical component of the local anesthesia course. She has until recently been an active member of the Registration Examination Committee at the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.

Kathryn is very excited about joining the HOHC team and providing foot care excellence to Nova Scotians.
